10 EU-supported projects - will showcase their progress on how to improve researchers’ employability, career development, skills and wellbeing in the European Research Area (ERA).
Insights for future applicants in view of the upcoming 2027 ERA call for proposals, which aims to strengthen Research Careers in the EU.
Widening indicator: Leveraging the potential for inclusive European research and innovation (May 2026)
This study provides a framework and associated indicator options for establishing a systemic 'Widening 2.0' methodology which could prove instrumental in discussing post-Horizon Europe 'widening' support measures. It is based on assessment of research and innovation indicators of targeted 'widening' countries, looking at the economic and research impact that Horizon Europe may have had between 2018 and 2025.

Important result for Romania in Horizon Europe: the EXCELY project, selected for funding under Teaming for Excellence (Apr. 2026)
The EXCELY project – Excellence Center in Liquid Biopsy in Personalized Medicine, coordinated by the “Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, was selected for funding under the HORIZON-WIDERA-2025-ACCESS-01 – Teaming for Excellence call.

New Horizon Europe WIDERA funding opportunities (Apr. 2026)
€22 million are now available under three new Horizon Europe Widening participation and spreading excellence funding opportunities.
70 early-stage deep tech companies secured funding through Horizon Europe EIC Pre-accelerator Widening (Apr. 2026)
In total, the selected companies will receive around €32.5 million in EU funding, with up to €500,000 awarded per company. They represent 22 countries, with Portugal, Estonia and Turkey recording the highest number of successful proposals. Notably, 24% of the selected projects are coordinated by women.
